Maintenance Guide for Conveyor-Type Shot Blasting Machines
Hits: 914 Time: 2025.03.11

Conveyor-type shot blasting machines are widely used for metal surface treatment, primarily for removing oxidation, rust, welding slag, and other impurities from workpiece surfaces to improve surface quality. To ensure efficient operation, extend the equipment's lifespan, and guarantee operational safety, the following maintenance points should be observed for conveyor-type shot blasting machines:

1. Daily Maintenance
- Equipment Cleaning: After each use, clean the blast chamber, conveyor belt, separator, and dust removal system to prevent residue buildup that may affect performance.
- Inspect Wear Parts: Regularly check the wear of consumable parts such as blast wheel blades, guard plates, and conveyor belts, and replace damaged components promptly.
- Lubrication: Follow the equipment manual to regularly lubricate moving parts such as bearings, chains, and gears to ensure smooth operation.

2. Periodic Maintenance
- Blast Wheel Inspection: Check the wear of blast wheel blades, impellers, and directional sleeves monthly to ensure uniform blasting performance.
- Conveyor Belt Adjustment: Regularly inspect the tension of the conveyor belt to avoid issues caused by excessive looseness or tightness.
- Dust Removal System Maintenance: Clean the dust filter cartridges or bags to ensure effective dust removal and prevent dust accumulation from affecting performance.

3. Key Component Maintenance
- Blast Chamber Guard Plates: Regularly inspect the guard plates inside the blast chamber and replace severely worn plates to prevent chamber damage.
- Separator Maintenance: Clean impurities from the separator to ensure effective separation of steel shot or grit and prevent debris from entering the blast wheel.
- Electrical System Inspection: Regularly check electrical wiring, switches, and control systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

4. Lubrication and Maintenance Plan
- Develop a Lubrication Plan: Create a detailed lubrication schedule based on equipment usage frequency to ensure all moving parts are adequately lubricated.
- Use Appropriate Lubricants: Select lubricants that meet equipment requirements and avoid using low-quality lubricants that may accelerate wear.

5. Fault Handling and Record Keeping
- Prompt Fault Resolution: If abnormalities (e.g., noise, vibration, temperature rise) occur during operation, immediately shut down the equipment for inspection and resolve the issue before resuming operation.
- Maintenance Records: Keep detailed records of each maintenance session, including the time, content, and replaced parts, to track equipment status and plan future maintenance.

6. Operator Training
- Train Operators: Ensure operators are familiar with the equipment's working principles, operating procedures, and maintenance requirements to avoid damage caused by improper operation.
- Safety Operating Procedures: Strictly adhere to the equipment's safety operating procedures and wear necessary protective gear to ensure operational safety.

7. Environment and Site Management
- Keep the Site Clean: Maintain cleanliness around the equipment to prevent clutter from affecting operation and maintenance.
- Ventilation and Dust Removal: Ensure the workspace is well-ventilated and regularly clean the dust removal system to minimize dust impact on the equipment and operators.

8. Maintenance During Long-Term Inactivity
- Clean the Equipment: Before long-term inactivity, thoroughly clean the internal steel shot, dust, and impurities to prevent corrosion or clogging.
- Rust Prevention: Apply rust prevention measures to key components, such as applying rust-proof oil or covering with anti-rust film.
- Regular Inspection: Even during inactivity, periodically inspect the equipment to ensure it is ready for operation when needed.

Conclusion
Through standardized daily maintenance, periodic inspections, and timely fault resolution, the operational efficiency of conveyor-type shot blasting machines can be significantly improved, their lifespan extended, and operational safety ensured. Developing and strictly implementing a detailed maintenance plan is key to ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
